I am a linguist and a conceptual self-portrait artist who applies linguistic theories of cohesion in text to the composition of my images. My image-source are photographs that I like studying in terms of possible different meanings (“visual” semantic) to translate later into the composition of my diptychs or triptychs. With the help of a digital software, first, I ”cut” a single picture into pieces, then I reassemble it into a completely new artwork. Being primarily a self-portraitist, all of the photographs used as a source for my art are my own shot with a camera and a tripod.

I am a linguist and a visual artist creating a conceptual portrait photography based on poetry; shot with a tripod and a remote control, then post-processed in a digital darkroom with a texturing technique. My approach is to destroy the perfection of an image taken reflecting a destructive power within me. I consider my photographic creation as a poetic experience. Most of my work is inspired by the poetry of a famous Polish poet-Halina Poswiatowska. I find beauty in its simplicity, metaphorical message, and liberty of interpretation. I search for the same values while depicting the meaning of her poems. I use myself as a subject. My images encompass the motifs of love, solitude and death. Slow, silent and at times painful, these portraits being self-portraits whisper in silence, cry in loneliness or scream in suffering, always between love and death. My objective to re-examine the eternal question of human existence is the one Poswiatowska probes in her poem: “can anyone entangle between love and death an anecdote about being”
