“Resting Rock” 10″x10″ Price Range: $55-$350 In these sections of landscapes, I am seeking to simplify and distill the forms and their settings. Using monochromatic tones and tight cropping, I can concentrate on the subjects with minimum appearance of surrounding contexts.
“Downey, Iowa Elevator” 16″x16″ Price Range: $55-$350 I photograph old grain elevators in their landscapes. Their angles and surfaces are beautiful. Each one is a survivor, a physical presence existing as a record of how we once lived. The graphic qualities and expressive nature are of equal importance to me.

“Ginkgo Platter” 14″ diameter Price Range: $40-$675 I am attracted to the purity and challenge that porcelain offers to its user. The pure white canvas of this clay provides a striking contrast to the layers of liquid black slip that coat my surfaces. After all layers are applied, I sgraffito the entire surface with a small loop tool to expose the clay and bring my imagery to life. My designs are my collection of favorite patterns, images, memories, or stories. The subjects I prefer have two volumes: quiet, nature inspired imagery or whimsical, light-hearted, narrative pictorials. Enveloping my pots in this detailed imagery creates a marriage of surface and form.

“Bird and House Platter” 18″ diameter Price Range: $36-$2500 This work takes inspiration from the beginning of the industrial revolution–a time when things were mass produced but not fully mechanized. It was a moment when man was just beginning to master machine. These pieces embody the quirky nature of discovery and reflect a desire to revisit the past. I work as immediately as possible; in small groups; six to a dozen pieces at a time. I use a limited pallet of very sensitive glazes and fire often in a small kiln. It is a chaotic work cycle but it is very informative.
