“Fineline” 12″ x 12″ x 1″ Price Range: $300 – $4,000 Our minimalist designs are a study of the boundless array of textures, shapes and colors found in nature. We refer to the medium as “organic wax based resin,” a proprietary formula that consists predominantly of beeswax. This resin is fused by heat onto hand finished aluminum panels. In most cases specimens of nature, ranging from seeds and pods to elements of more unusual origin such as sea kelp and the fibrous ‘paper’ culled from hornets nests, are then embedded into the resin. The colors are synthesized from a variety of plant matter such as lichen, minerals from the earth and oil pigments. The rich depth and luminous qualities are a result of the penetration of light through the organic medium and its reflection off the aluminum substrate.

“A Thousand Galaxies” 24″ x 36″ x 7″ Price Range: $200 – $7,900 Astronomy, physics and astrobiology have captivated me throughout my life. Concepts of dark energy, planetary nebulas, galaxies, supernovas and more, inspire me and serve as the foundation for my work. I am drawn to the dark, mysterious, beauty of space and what lies within it, compelled to understand how we are connected and how it all fits together. My intention is to create a convergence of art and science, to push past conventional knowledge and unanswered scientific questions, and to allow the mind to wander, dream of the unknown, in a playful explorative way. My current body of work is a visual scientific field journal that imagines newfound organic life collected by biologist/botanists outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. Each finished piece is comprised of about 90% beeswax. All visible components are beeswax including the smooth mounted surface. I paint layer upon layer, building hundreds of layers into shapes. I do not sculpt the wax or use molds.
