The CherryArts Student Art Buying Program (SAB) gives Colorado students the opportunity to purchase original artwork from the Cherry Creek Arts Festival for permanent installation at their school.
Each March, educators and students are invited to apply to SAB, and twenty-two schools are accepted to participate. They’re given classroom materials that help students explore the world of art, along with a $500 budget, which students and their teachers use for a hands-on art buying experience at that year’s Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
Students learn about art appreciation and the business of art while developing teamwork, public speaking,
and financial literacy skills.
Since 2001, SAB has enabled students from more than 385 schools to purchase more than 1,000 pieces of original art.

For decades, art lovers and collectors have visited the Cherry Creek Arts Festival to appreciate and purchase original work from hundreds of juried artists. The CherryArts Student Art Buying Program gives Colorado students the opportunity to have a similar experience, while teaching them about the business of art and enabling them to procure original work for permanent installation in their schools.
This innovative and unique program enriches the lives of student participants and opens their eyes to the world of art. Your support makes this program possible.
When you become a Student Art Buying Patron, you join a community of arts supporters who believe in inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers through arts education while supporting working artists.
More specifically, your contributions pay for program materials and art-buying budgets for students from 22 schools across Colorado. Those students learn about art appreciation and the business of art while developing teamwork, public speaking, and financial literacy skills. Their schools receive original artwork for permanent installation that will be enjoyed for decades.
Since 2001, SAB has enabled students from more than 385 schools to purchase more than 1,000 pieces of original art from more than 800 different artists.
