“Belated Birthday” 30″ x 30″ Price: $2400 I paint from a place of nostalgia for my Texan roots, filtered through a disorienting lens of pop culture. The result of this clashing imagery is often dreamy and humorous, and I find utter joy in merging beauty with absurdity. My painting techniques and use of realism reflect my interest in art historical symbolism. Pulling from caricatures and symbols of the American West, the figures in my work encounter nonsensical diversions of junk foods and other motifs of cultural consumption. The characters are one the verge of becoming lost in delusion and daydream.

“Taming the Sea” 48″ x 48″ Price: $6300 Price range of work: $100-$8000 Acrylic, ink, painted paper, and graphite on canvas. In this piece, rabbits sail from the depths of the sea in whale vessels. The rabbits represent our inner spirits, which I believe are supposed to be happy and living abundantly. This piece is about uniting the head (the sky) and the heart (the sea), or our emotions and logic, in order to become our best selves. The whales that carry the rabbits on this journey are not completely natural. Instead, they’ve been made into ships that can travel from the sea to the sky. In folklore, whales represent creativity and also represent the deep knowledge of life and death. They are the perfect guides for an adventure such as this.
