Signe and Genna have been creating together for over two decades. Their artistic process begins with Genna’s expressive abstract underpainting, layered with rich patterns and tonal depth. Signe then draws inspiration from vintage photographs, sketching figures in oil pastel before adding bold, blocky panes of color. Their work explores themes of community, connection, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.
Northern Lights showcases their signature style, inspired by a mid-century “ski beach” scene. “We were drawn to the contrast-depicting a frozen landscape with hot, almost tropical colors,” they share. The result is a seamless blend of Genna’s vibrant groundwork and Signe’s figurative overlay.
