CherryArts is excited to bring you art projects and activities to keep you creative during these challenging times. Below you will find fun art activities, projects and videos for you to do at home with the whole family!
Art Kits
CherryArts is partnering with Denver Public Schools, Understudy, La Napoule Art Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and Balefire Goods and Food For Thought Denver to create and distribute Art Kits to students in need throughout Denver!
Food For Thought Denver provided meals to Denver Public School students and their families by delivering 7,000 PowerSacks (56,000 meals) to more than 24 DPS Grab and Go sites. Each PowerSack meal contained enough non-perishable food for a family of four for two days and was made available to anyone in need, not just DPS students. Food For Thought Denver distributed Art Kits alongside their PowerSack meals through the month of May.
Denver Public Schools are currently providing meals through the summer for an estimated 12,000 people each day. CherryArts will continue to distribute Art Kits through the summer at various Grab and Go sites in the coming weeks.
The Art Kits include several art project ideas and materials, along with water bottles, t-shirts, and bandanas to foster creativity during this time away from school. Each project contains a printed and online At Home With Art tutorial options seen below to keep children engaged.
CherryArts is seeking donations of new or gently used art supplies, traditional or non-traditional. Email education@cherryarts.org to donate supplies. The public can also make a monetary donation to support the Art Kits program by clicking the donate now button below. Follow, engage with the program, or tag us on social media with @cherryarts and #togetherthroughart.
